Welcome Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) BSM Alumni!
This year has been a blessing to see God’s hand in raising funds for next year’s staff. We want you to celebrate with us all that the Lord is doing here at the BSM and wish you all a happy summer.
Below are some statistics of how many students we ministered to on our campus. None of this would be possible without support from local churches, personal donations and fundraising done throughout the year. Thank you!
This Year at the BSM 2010-2011
Noon Lunch: We provided 4,900 individual meals in partnership with 28 different churches.
KidsRHis: On average this ministry reached 10 children per week, as well as two parents that were staying to listen by the end of the school year. Including about 10 Texas State University students to help.
Community Outreach: 235 people touched by different outreaches such as Church for the Homeless and Christmas cards to the nursing home, this ministry involved about 88 Texas State University students.
Mission Trips (Winter, Spring, Summer): About 70 students from the BSM went on mission trip this school year and summer.
Campus Outreach: This semester we did a campus outreach asking students how we could pray for them, this turned out about 200 prayer requests and several spiritual conversations, causing students to consider Christ as their savior.
Missions Fundraising: Students participated in several events to raise money this semester raising about $4,500 for missions.
English Class: This year 7 different countries were represented in our conversational English classes.
Drama Team: A group of 9 students that perform at the BSM, local churches and youth events throughout the month.
Refuge: Approximately 100 students attend Refuge each week for worship music and small group Bible study.
Pancake Night: A beginning of the semester outreach with free pancakes & live worship, serving about 200 students.
Steak Night: (Pictured below, left) Every Fall we begin the semester with $0.99 Steak Night, an outreach to help students get plugged in and involved in August.
Spring Banquet: (Pictured below, right) This year we had 190 students and parents attend our end of the year banquet. This was a time to celebrate the Lord’s work as well as parent’s having a chance to see what their child has been involved in over the year!
